Human Knowledge Navigator

Fujitsu lab uses document analysis to match questions to people with expertise:

Meanwhile, the Lab for Broadband and Ubiquitous Technologies made public a knowledge utilization system called "Human Knowledge Navigator." When receiving requests or claims on a specific field from customers, the system will search for the personnel who are well versed in the field.
The system can detect the special knowledge owned by each worker automatically through checking of the daily operations, such as exchanges of files between the workers. When a worker in an organization puts document files or files for presentation on the groupware that Fujitsu Laboratories has developed, the system automatically accumulates, in the XML format, information on the worker, including his or her name and the technical field related to the person, by using natural language processing technology. When a user inputs keywords of a certain field, the system displays a list of personnel who are believed to be familiar with the field.
