I thlnk Lucas Gonze's idea is that you can take his smil and modify it. Remixable mixes. Smil is actually a good vehicle for this, because it allows transitions, overlapping audio content, and all sorts of other features. It was, it seems, originally imagined by the w3c as a multimedia presentation format, almost like non-boring powerpoint.
