What do you use for playing audio at the command line, Alf? I find that mpg123 and madplay both die on a lot of files that other players can handle, and I'd love a player that also did wav and ogg.
I don't generally play audio from the command line, but when I did for a while I quite liked cplay - http://www.tf.hut.fi/~flu/cplay/ . It's a front-end to mpg123/ogg123/madplay/xmp/sox etc though, so it can only play whatever files those can handle.
