Flitter

Search and browse my store of shiny music (and books):

Mouse over images to load the whole cover. Click the covers to load related albums.

Update: Flitter now displays headlines from Feedster containing your search terms, at the top of the page. Click the arrows to move through the headlines and select a headline to read the full story.

Update: Inspired by What's That Song?, Flitter now produces a playlist of music samples from each album. The link should show up underneath any clicked album cover.

There's a link to the iTunes Music Store as well, for better quality samples that are less likely to exist.

Is that album art from Amazon or iTunes, Alf?

It's from Amazon, and the 'Related Artists' data is from Audioscrobbler.

I wonder about other web services that could be tied in. Not del.icio.us -- Audioscrobbler is already covering that turf. Froogle, maybe?

If you query on PJ Harvey and Sonic Youth in Froogle, the top result is a Cat Power album. That has a bit of interestingness.

Thanks for the helpful comment on my blog; also the fog in my head has lifted somewhat so flitter makes more sense now :)

The result page 'feels' a little rough; have you considered using colours to get some more distinction between the various sources used?
And I find the suddenly enlarging pictures on mouseover disorienting (though that might be the remainder of the alcohol in my blood) and it distorts the page, maybe a little (+) button and/op popup? Just some thoughts...

Too bad technorati is always slow, it would be interesting to add that to the mix, too.

*ack* seems the fog hasn't entirely lifted. Above comment was mine :)
