My Speediest Gatherers

It's more interesting to run the algorithm on your own del.icio.us page, rather than /popular, to get results that fit better with your interests. I can't make this a service as it scrapes too many pages. but send an email if you want to try yours.

Here's the table for my page.

Comments

Well, if you have the time I would be happy to see it done to my account: http://del.icio.us/acidzebra
(I'm assuming a comment here will generate an email to you)

As an aside; I think http://del.icio.us/hublicious is your account, or not? I think the smilies used to tag the posts are interesting, but the rating:X% breaks del.icio.us, try http://del.icio.us/hublicious/rating:100% to see what I mean. Shame, I was wondering what music scored 100% ;)

The rating links work ok (see the ones above, for example). You just have to make sure the % is properly encoded (as %25).

Here's yours: http://alf.hubmed.org/del/acidzebra.htm
You'll have to decide for yourself if it's accurate or not - note that at the moment it only takes into account your first page (100 bookmarks).

yup, I'm a del.icio.us popular copying whore ;)

Then again; user Hubalicios rated Buffy season 1-7 as 100% so I'm not the only one with issues *grin*

Just Kidding already!

Perhaps you could open source it? :)

Can I have a go?

I noticed that I am on acidzebra's list with a score of 1. Woohoo!

Could you do http://del.icio.us/fpgibson

I was actually hoping to find code or something. Based on my own playing with del.icio.us, it's clear you would have to do quite a bit of scraping as the xml over http interface is quite limited.

One model for del.icio.us would be to put a subscription fee around more value-added services like this one. Something like this could have real marketing implications. See my further thoughts at:

The Gatherers of the Month turned out to be a really valuable tool and this looks promissing. I would like to see my speediest gatherers page.

That's all I'm doing for now - too much scraping going on, and the algorithm needs some work.
