The Guardian has a brilliant article about how badly London Transport is making the bus services location-aware, compared to Helsinki.
Basically, Helsinki = Linux, free wireless broadband, 2D barcodes on bus stops, freely available data plotted on Google Maps and anywhere else people want to put it. London = Windows, proprietary software and no plans for open data.
