Use kast, a cross-platform client, to receive media channels broadcast over konspire2b, a P2P network that uses an XML-based sink-discovery protocol to distribute content efficiently over a large scale.
Note, I haven't tested this yet as hard disk space is at a premium at the moment, but it looks very promising.
