We're all going straight to hell :-)

Wired News - Bill Would Put Net Song Swappers in Jail: The Conyers-Berman bill would operate under the assumption that each copyrighted work made available through a computer network was copied at least 10 times for a total retail value of $2,500.
Although the actual text says: For purposes of section 2319(b) of title 18, the placing of a copyrighted work, without the authorization of the copyright owner, on a computer network accessible to members of the public who are able to copy the work through such access shall be considered to be the distribution, during a 180-day period, of at least 10 copies of that work with a retail value of more than $2,500.
Which makes even less sense.
Update: It makes more sense if you realise that $2500 is the limit above which you can be sent to jail. So even if the retail value of the shared files wasn't above $2500, this bill allows them to 'pretend' that it was and get you carted away.
Back to the real world... I wrote before how to get Pysoulseek running under OS X. Problem is, it was only v1.2.1, which didn't really work that smoothly. Thanks to some recent updates to the Fink packages, now you can get v1.2.2, which is much better. If you're behind a firewall, you need item 3.3 from the Fink FAQ : download the cvs-proxy .info and .patch files and put them in the right place (you might need to use Get Info to make the directory writeable), then run
fink install cvs-proxy
Once that's done (or ignore it if you're not behind a firewall), run
fink selfupdate-cvs
and
fink update-all
It works :)

Update: Once that's working, you'll probably want to copy the newest version of PySoulseek from the official page over the old one in /sw/lib/python2.3/site-packages, then update it further with Hyriand's latest patch.
