I'd been wondering why no-one had been doing anything cool with Jabber lately, then this popped up today: Phil Wilson's Joggle Tellybot, a TV listings service for UK terrestrial TV. Send it commands like 'now', '22:00', or 'big brother' and it sends back the corresponding programmes or show times.
It's still a shame that most of the cross-protocol clients haven't yet picked up all the Jabber features that Psi and Exodus can handle. Making bots and services isn't so much fun when only a few people can use them.
