The BBC has been doing good things with its on-demand watch- and listen-again service iPlayer. The TV side now uses Flash for immediate streaming of a selection of full-length shows from the last 7 days, while the Radio side stays with RealAudio but at a higher bitrate, and has had some design updates.
This bash script still works nicely for recording radio streams in faster-than-realtime, and this Greasemonkey script still appends the appropriate commands to the radio player pages.
