I don't know when this switched, but (as mentioned in a generally interesting post by Jon Udell today) PubMed's now using URLs in the form http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/{PMID} - even better than the view.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov URIs exposed not long ago.
